Hi Patric still having trouble setting fuel pressure to 7psi with vacume port hooked up to base of carb.
i warm engine up let engine idle at 1200rpm and adjust the fuel pressure by screwing in the adjuster on the top of the regulator i get about 3.5psi and then the regulator adjuster bottems out and pushes open the check valve in the regulator and pumps 25psi into the carb and floods the engine. any ideas? Its like the engine is pulling too much vacume pulling the fuel pressure back other than that the engine runs great very happy
I can adjust the fuel pressure to 7PSI with no vacume port hooked up and all is fine. my fuel pump is a MagnaFuel Quick Star 300 and fuel pressure regualtor is ProSystems / Holley 12-704 with vacume refrence thanks for your help Mark

Many times if they are idling too lean they will make excessive amounts of vacuum that will be difficult to control as the level of vacuum will move up and down on a lean idling engine.
Richen the idle up (be sure your timing is locked out and not moving around at an idle) and the pressure should stabilize.

On 30792 I would install a 4.5 power valve in the primary side. Drill the power valve feeds in the metering block out to .096 (3/32) and install a main jet 14 sizes smaller. |
