Just installed oil temp sensor in oil pan. Freshened up motor made some changes pan was off already. What kind of oil temp should I expect to see running alcohol carb. Have a 160 t-stat installed  for heat.

My oil typically runs about 10-20 degrees hotter than my water.  BUT every engine is different.

oil temp is as you say about 10 degrees hotter than oil. my question is since freshened up motor runs fine but my plugs show no color they look like out of the box, run alcohol. car isn't as consistent either should I go down in jet size to get some color. Should I just jet for best mph and not worry about plug color. My oil has no smell of alcohol when I change it. Car used to run same ET every pass time slips are varying from the 330 mark on sixties nearly identical. Thanks for your input.

Since there is no carbon in alcohol its tough to read the plugs.  Make sure your fuel pressure is proper and jet for best mph.  Then read your EGT or A/F and thats the target.  If its hits the target through the run then you are right there.
